Winter Walk for Primary 1 - 2
9th Jan 2026
The P1 and P2 classes recently participated in a sensory-based winter walk to observe seasonal changes. Using their five senses, the pupils identified key winter features, such as:
-
Sight: Bare deciduous trees and glistening dew on the grass.
-
Sound: The rustle of the wind and birdsong.
-
Touch: The sharp, spiky texture of pine needles and bark.
-
Smell: The distinct, crisp scent of the cold morning air.
The group was surprised to find "out of season" daisies and roses still growing. The walk concluded with a practical science experiment where the children observed the condensation of their breath, sparking a great discussion on temperature.
