P6/P7 Eco Diversity project update
Friday, 13th June 2025
Today, our pupils took part in a truly inspiring Eco Project experience, immersing themselves in the beauty and biodiversity of Maghery Meadow and its surrounding lake.
The day began with a peaceful walk through the meadow, where the children observed a stunning variety of wildflowers, bees, and butterflies in their natural habitat. With notebooks and sketchpads in hand, they recorded their findings and marveled at the delicate balance of life thriving in this protected space.
The adventure continued with a boat ride onto the lake, offering a unique perspective of the local ecosystem. As they glided across the water, the children spotted water birds, admired the wildflowers growing along the shoreline, and learned about the importance of preserving these habitats for future generations.
This hands-on experience not only deepened their understanding of local wildlife and environmental stewardship, but also sparked a sense of wonder and responsibility for the natural world.
A huge thank you to everyone who made this day possible. It was a perfect blend of learning, exploration, and appreciation for the world around us.
