P6 and P7 visit to Whiteisland Nursery
Today, the P6 and P7 students had an exciting and educational visit to Whiteisland Nursery. This visit was part of their Young Enterprise Project, where they will be creating and selling baskets of flowers to customers on Saturday, 22nd March 2025.
During their visit, the children had the opportunity to explore the nursery and observe the workings of a very professional business. They were fascinated by the variety of plants, trees, shrubs, and hedges. The nursery staff explained the different types of plants and their unique characteristics, which helped the students understand the importance of selecting the right plants for their flower baskets.
One of the highlights of the visit was learning about the nursery's advanced watering system. The children were intrigued by how the system ensures that all plants receive the right amount of water, promoting healthy growth. This knowledge will be invaluable as they care for their own plants in preparation for their project.
In addition to the plants, the students were delighted to see goats at the nursery. The presence of these friendly animals added an extra element of fun to the visit and provided a memorable experience for everyone.
Overall, the visit to Greenisland Nursery was a great success. The P6 and P7 students left with a wealth of knowledge and inspiration for their Young Enterprise Project. They are now more excited than ever to create beautiful baskets of flowers and share their hard work with the community on 22nd March 2025.
