🍕✏️P3, 4 & 5 Cooking Up Success With Instruction Writing!🍕📖
This term, P3, 4 and 5 have been diving into the world of instruction writing. We explored lots of important features that help make instructions clear and easy to follow, including imperative verbs, prepositions, sequencing words, chronological order, conjunctions, adverbs, contractions, and much more!
After building up all these brilliant skills, we began planning our own set of instructions. To help us do this, we decided to make mini pizzas—a fun (and very tasty!) way to put our learning into action.
We worked through each step slowly and carefully, discussing our ingredients, equipment, and method. As we completed each stage, we wrote down exactly what we had done on our planning sheets so that our instructions would be accurate and easy to follow.
Once our plans were complete, it was time for the best part—cooking and eating our marvellous creations! The classroom smelled incredible, and the pizzas tasted even better.
The next day, we edited our plans by checking our spelling and using a thesaurus to improve any words that could be more exciting or descriptive. Finally, we used our edited plans to write our final draft of our instructions.
We are now well on our way to creating our very own recipe/instruction book.
