Today the BOG’s, staff and children from St Mary’s Maghery came together to honour a very special lady Mrs Jean Fox. Jean was the school caretaker in St Mary’s for 13 years. As Miss Robinson alluded to, the title “caretaker” was well suited to Jean, as Jean not only “cared” for the school premises, but cared for every member of staff and child that was part of the school.
The children performed a super assembly in front of members of Jean’s family and the BOG’s. Jean was also presented with some gifts from staff, parents, the children, and the parish.
Please never be a stranger Jean. Remember the theme of your assembly today, “You will always be our friend.”
