Chinese New Year Celebrations in Primary 1 and 2
Today, the children were absolutely delighted to take part in our Chinese New Year Celebrations! The day kicked off with imaginative play, as the children set up fabulous Chinese restaurants and decorated their outdoor homes to create a festive atmosphere. After enjoying some traditional Chinese food as part of their snack, the excitement continued with a lively Chinese dance parade integrated into their PE lesson.
Following the energetic dancing, the children engaged in a fascinating fact-finding session about the significance of the celebration, during which they created their own fact files to share their newfound knowledge. In Numeracy, they explored important dates, delving into which animal represented the year they were born. This sparked a great deal of enthusiasm and curiosity among them!
To cap off the day, the children crafted beautiful Chinese lanterns and colourful snakes, adding a personal touch to their celebrations. Overall, a wonderful blend of fun and learning was had as the children embraced the vibrant traditions associated with this exciting new celebration. It was a day filled with joy, creativity, and cultural awareness!
