Our Food Monitor children have noticed that over the past few weeks, some whole fruit was being put into the waste food bin. They came up with an idea to reduce the amount of fruit/veg that was being disposed of. At an Eco Meeting they decided to introduce a Care and Share bowl. On Monday they spoke to the whole school, during choir practice on how to use the bowl effectively. Children who do not want their fruit are encouraged to place it into the bowl and throughout the week, children can take from the bowl a piece of fruit, if they wish. We hope to see a change in the weight of food waste being logged each day.
