🎓✨ Intergenerational Project with the Diamond Club 🏫📚

12th Nov 2025

Our Primary 4–7 pupils recently enjoyed a fantastic intergenerational learning experience with members of the Diamond Club. We walked to Maghery Hall, where we stepped back in time to discover what school life was like during the Victorian era.

We were greeted by Miss Anderson, who introduced us to the strict rules and expectations of her classroom. She began by inspecting everyone’s hands to ensure they were clean and suitable for learning! We were fascinated to see her anti-fidgeting device, designed to stop fingers from moving, and her anti-slouching device, which kept your back perfectly straight.

Miss Anderson taught us about Victorian manners and etiquette before leading lessons in Maths, English, and even some physical exercises. It was incredible to experience how different schooling was in those times, and we learned so much about Victorian education.

To finish the day, our P6 & P7 pupils performed a beautiful song for everyone. It was amazing—although Miss Anderson thought we were all far too smiley for Victorian standards!

This was a truly memorable day filled with learning, laughter, and connection across generations. A big thank you to the Diamond Club and Maghery Hall for letting us join in!
