🌸 A Creative Spring 🌸
Recently, our pupils have been exploring ‘A Creative Spring’ through a range of exciting and creative activities. Using ICT, Primary 3 created bright and colourful Spring pictures, while Primary 4 and 5 used their digital skills to design Spring animations.
We then drew inspiration from the season to develop our creative writing, experimenting with similes and acrostic poems to describe the sights, sounds and feelings of Spring.
This week, our focus turned to Spring art, inspired by the Russian artist Wassily Kandinsky. We learned about his life and discovered how he made the brave decision to leave his job and change his career at the age of 30. This led to thoughtful discussions about how it’s never too late to try something new, as long as you work hard and believe in yourself.
We loved exploring Kandinsky’s artwork, especially Colour Study: Squares with Concentric Circles (1913). As we talked about his art and life, we noticed how it linked beautifully with the theme of Spring—a season full of new beginnings. We thought about trees beginning to grow new leaves and decided to create our own abstract, circular trees inspired by Kandinsky’s style.
Aren’t they amazing? 🌳🎨
