💷 Budgeting and Saving Money – Real Life Money Skills 💷

24th Apr 2026

In Primary 4 and 5, we have been learning about real‑life money skills and why they are so important. We explored topics such as prioritising needs, understanding bills, learning what banks do, and how to budget and save money.

We talked about how everyone is different and may have different priorities when it comes to spending money. We also learned the importance of being respectful of other people’s choices, even if we might make different decisions ourselves.

To put our learning into practice, we played the Moffle Money game. We all started with £20 and had to make our own spending decisions. We had to think carefully about what we wanted to buy, whether we wanted to save our money for a particular shop, whether items were worth the price, and if we should save some money for next time.

Through the game, we discovered that spending too much money in one shop meant we might not be able to buy items we wanted later on. We learned how budgeting carefully helps us manage our money and make sure we have enough for the things that matter most to us.

Everyone had a great time and really enjoyed putting their skills into practical use.

Well done, P4 & P5! 👏
