Visit from Fiona Payne, UK Parliament
Exciting Visit from the UK Parliament!
Today, our P6 and P7 classes had the incredible opportunity to welcome a special visitor from the UK Parliament! The students were thrilled to learn about the important roles of local MLAs (Members of the Legislative Assembly) and MPs (Members of Parliament). Our guest speaker shared fascinating insights into the workings of Stormont and the Houses of Parliament.
The discussion covered various laws and how they are made, emphasizing the importance of each one of us playing our part in making good decisions. The students learned that by following the law, we can ensure our safety and contribute to being good citizens.
This visit was not only educational but also inspiring, as it highlighted how young people can be involved in their communities and the democratic process. We are grateful for this enriching experience and look forward to more opportunities to learn about our government and its impact on our lives.
Thank you to our visitor for making this day memorable!
